| The
Highways Agency is responsible for operating, maintaining
and improving the strategic road network in England.
The country is divided into 14 areas. Each area is operated
by either a Managing Agent (MA) and Term Maintenance
Contractor (TMC) or a Managing Agent Contractor (MAC).
The MAC contract combines both roles of the MA and TMC.
MAC contracts may be extended to cover the whole of
the motorway and trunk road network in England over
the next five years except on those parts of the network
covered by private finance initiative (PFI) contracts.
Our vision totally aligns with the Highways Agency's
and their developing role as Network Operators.
